Every single time the big A launches something new, journalists swarm all over it like an obsequious colony of ants. It's honestly quite startling, how they would rave about Apple products months before, during, and after their release. Now why is it that one company garners so much attention? I mean sure, they ostentatiously flaunt their products, but what company doesn't? It comes down to one simple fact - Apple is chic, and Apple is cool.

Take for example the LG G Watch R - it's round, and has far better battery life than the Apple Watch. Or for the more stylish bunch, the recently announced Huawei Watch. A marvel of engineering, one would be hard pressed to differentiate it from a premium Rolex at first glance.
Rather, Apple's genius is in its marketing. Their commercials seek to evoke meaning in their products. Rather than focus on how advanced their inventions are, they focus on the effects of their products. I mean, just look at this ad:
And man, has all that marketing paid off. Apple is one of the world's most valuable companies today. You see their products everywhere, and gosh are they beautiful. Holding an Apple product feels magical.
It is the result of this marketing that has inspired people to do great things, and it is the result of this marketing that has caused absolutely everyone to become obsessed with Apple.
Apple has made an insight on how the consumer works. As persuading as a quad-core XYZ company processor is, a legacy of inspiration is more persuading. It's inspiration that makes people do great things, and Apple has tapped into that in the most miraculous way.
